Press Release

Regents Pizzeria, the locally-owned La Jolla institution providing high quality Chicago deep dish and NY-style pizzas to the San Diego community since 2005, is at it again with a full menu overhaul! Embracing their newly-coined mission of being a hub for “All American Craft Pizza, Burgers and Beer,” they’ve added 18 items across seven categories, and repackaged it all in a streamlined new menu that’s as visually appealing as the food it offers.

Of course, all the local favorites made the cut, but they’ve expanded the options to more equally balance the strong craft beer culture they’ve cultivated over the years - 32 rotating taps and weekly events leave little room for doubt - and to fill in the gaps that the businesses in the surrounding area seem to be ignoring.

Most notable addition? A killer burger. The patty is equal parts ribeye, chuck and pancetta, and a standard order comes topped with cheddar cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, red onion and house made pickles. Upgrade to the BBQ Chipotle Bleu Burger and you’ll add BBQ and Chipotle sauces, Gorgonzola cheese and fried onion strings - and there’s always the option of the house made bacon!

Other highlights include slow cooked and pulled pork shoulder, available as a sandwich or as an additional topping for pizzas, salads or as a substitute in the new Chicken Avocado Wrap, as well as the Gorgonzola Ribeye Salad, and two new wing preparations: Habanero Honey Orange and Garlic Pepper, which features a buttermilk batter that is reminiscent of the best Southern home-cooking

For the veggie lovers, Regents now offers tempura-battered and fried Buffalo Cauliflower, a Fettuccine Primavera full of locally-sourced produce and hand-cut Kennebec fries, which are also available slathered in the (not vegetarian) options of Buffalo chicken tenders with gorgonzola, or cheddar cheese and bacon.

And here’s a life changer for everyone with a wheat-intolerance: 10” gluten free pizzas. Not the standard frozen kind that is often adopted by traditional pizza restaurants - this is a specially crafted recipe, made to order in its own separate oven and customizable with all your favorite Regents toppings.

Part of this revitalization involved developing new partnerships with local purveyors, and Regents is now working closely with Specialty Produce, Molinari & Sons Meats and Marisa Foods, in addition to their long-standing relationships with Mary’s Chicken, Grande Cheese and Bread & Cie bakery.

It’s a season of change at Regents Pizzeria, so make a point to stop by and dig in to their new menu items (all of which pair perfectly with a pint of beer, duh). As the Regents team always says: Eat More Pizza, Drink More Beer, Be More Happy! Words to live by.
