Shuck your way through National Oyster Day
Whether you slurp, chew, take them straight or douse the slippery molluscs in lemon and cocktail sauce, the gender-bending oyster is the stuff of foodie addiction. With over 100 species and historically revered as an aphrodisiac, the sea-salty bivalve has been featured in art, literature and music for centuries.
Aug. 5 marks National Oyster Day and restaurants around San Diego are primed to celebrate. Here are some of the hot spots to hit this weekend.
Keep it dry, salty and bubbly with an unbeatable combo of $1 oysters and $5 glasses of Cava all day on National Oyster Day at this neighborhood classic in La Jolla.
