Manny Machado’s large contract with Padres inspires Puesto taco
Puesto at The Headquarters’ executive chef Edgar Chong has crafted the Manny Machado Taco as its April Taco of the Month.
Tasked with what a professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic with a $300 million contract would expect in his taco, Chong began with filet mignon and crispy melted queso Oaxaca as its foundation.
To add the Caribbean flair, he topped it with fresh mango, avocado, tostones (twice-fired plantain slices), olive oil caviar, spicy manzano-plantain sauce, cilantro and edible 24K gold leaf.
