Decide who makes the best taco in town
The spicy Taco Fights are back at The Blind Burro, but this time with an “Iron Chef"-style twist. Starting on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 7 to 9 p.m., six local chefs will go head-to-head to create the ultimate taco, this time using an ingredient chosen by the public.
Voting for each week’s special ingredient will take place on The Blind Burro’s Facebook page. Be sure to leave your suggestion as to what these San Diego culinary connoisseurs should be cooking, and don’t go too easy on them.
The series will run every Tuesday night until March 3.
Tasting and voting are encouraged at the competition. That’s right; you choose who gets all the taco glory! Admission to the series is free, and the featured tacos of the night will cost $6 for both.
Winners from each of the three rounds will go on to compete in the championship round on March 3. Admission to the competitions is free.
Here’s the complete lineup:
Tuesday, Feb. 10 - ROUND 1
Alex Carballo (Urbn St. Brewing Co.) vs. Mario Medina (Finch’s Bistro & Wine Bar)
Tuesday, Feb. 17 - ROUND 2
Drew Deckman (Deckman’s en El Mogor) vs. Martin Gonzalez (Acqua al 2 and TOAST Enoteca & Cucina)
Tuesday Feb. 24 (National Tortilla Chip Day) - ROUND 3

Tuesday, March 3 - CHAMPIONSHIP
Winner of each week will compete
