Bubba’s Smokehouse BBQ to add second location

Share

Bubba’s Smokehouse BBQ, La Jolla’s best-kept secret for ridiculously delicious barbeque, is opening a second location in Eastlake. The grand opening is scheduled for September 10.

“I wanted to bring the Eastlake area quality barbeque at an affordable price,” said Jeff Nicoletta, a Navy veteran who owns the restaurant with his wife, Alison. Bubba’s Smokehouse, which has been a staple in La Jolla for seven years, is a favorite of La Jolla locals and known for its excellent food and service. The tantalizing smokehouse smell wafts down Prospect Street, luring in locals and visitors throughout the day. Regulars expect a friendly welcome every time they visit the mom-and-pop style restaurant, followed by generous servings of ribs, sandwiches, barbeque platters and classic sides.

Bubba’s does classic Southern-style barbeque, with a menu featuring mouthwatering, fall off the bone ribs, brisket, tri-tip, chicken and pulled pork. The goal is simple: cook up traditional barbeque that tastes fantastic. All their food is cooked fresh every day, and when they’re out, they’re out. With all Bubba’s dishes, you can choose between Bubba’s Secret Dry Rub, Bubba’s Kickin’ BBQ Sauce (a tangy North Carolina-inspired sauce) and Bubba’s Lip-Smackin’ Sweet BBQ Sauce (a traditional Southern sweet sauce)-as much or as little as you like. Even health-conscious diners don’t have to miss out on good barbeque-Bubba’s offers several salads, each with a barbeque twist. The BBQ Cobb salad includes pulled pork and pulled chicken, and you can add pulled pork, chopped beef brisket or pulled or grilled chicken to the Ultimate Caesar.

The casual atmosphere is perfect for families and large groups, and with two TVs, it’s a great place to watch the big games. The La Jolla location also offers outdoor seating.

Bubba’s also offers catering for events of all kinds, from 15 to 500 people. Catering options include chicken, ribs, pulled pork or chopped beef brisket, along with salads and sides ranging from coleslaw, mac and cheese, roasted corn on the cob, buffalo wings and more.

The Eastlake grand opening will feature DJ Heart Attak and some local professional athletes will be stopping by. Nicoletta is excited to expand to Chula Vista and expects to see the same success as the original location. La Jolla’s best-kept secret is out.
