Brunch is Served at Craft & Commerce
Craft & Commerce just introduced a new menu built for mid-morning indulgence, featuring Executive Chef Craig Jimenez’s contemporary take on traditional brunch bites paired with plenty of strong spirits. But at this Little Italy haven, the menu launch represents more than just another time to feast. Craft & Commerce understands this scared meal’s significance in our society, and the menu is designed for sharing. Oh, and did we mention that many cocktails are served in communal punch bowls, so that no one feels lefts out?
Breaking news: Bacon is no longer a side dish. Craft & Commerce’s new brunch menu boasts a daring entrée of Sizzling Bacon, prepared with scallions, onions, peppers and house vinegar for $9. More must-try brunch dishes include the Jalapeno Glazed Biscuit Sandwich, made with ham, lamb sausage, spicy cheese fondue and a fried egg for $11; Dos Soft Cooked Duck Eggs, served with salt varieties and buttered toast for $7; and Fried Chicken & Cornmeal Waffles, topped with maple syrup, vanilla butter and spicy vinegar for $12. Calorie-conscious eaters will love the Bruleed Grapefruit served with mint and pecans for $5; and the Bowl of Quinoa Flakes, a blend of steel cut oats, berries, Nutella, cinnamon and banana anglaise for $8.
But let’s be honest, at a hot spot like Craft & Commerce, it’s always more fun to drink your brunch. And we’re not talking about Stumptown coffee, which they do proudly serve. For the best of both worlds, order the Stumptown Swizzle, a caffeinated concoction made with white rum, house-made coconut syrup and Sumptown coffee. If you’re grubbing on Sizzling Bacon, you must sip on the Early Riser, made with bourbon, lemon, honey, maple syrup and bacon bitters. More brunch-approved spirits include Brass Monk with black rum, Hefeweizen, organge juice, lemon and Absinthe; London Chai with chai tea gin, lemon and egg white; and The Queen Mary with your choice of gin or tequila, lime, house-made Bloody Mary mix, grated horse radish and Chicarone. If you’re late to this party, there is no vodka served at Craft & Commerce. Deal with it. Brunch cocktails are $10 and champagne cocktails are $11.
Weekend brunch is now served at Craft & Commerce every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 619.269.2202 or visit Craft & Commerce in Little Italy.
