Free scoops ‘til the sun goes down

The weather may still be chilly, but taste buds are always hot hot hot for ice cream.

The Baked Bear, famous for its custom ice cream sandwiches, will be satisfying the San Diego sweet tooth with free ice cream on Feb. 25 in honor of customer appreciation day. From opening until the sun goes down (or about 6 p.m.), customers can enjoy one free cup of ice cream at any of the four San Diego locations (Carmel Mountain, La Costa, Carmel Valley and Pacific Beach).

Since opening its Pacific Beach doors for the first time in 2013, San Diego natives Rob Robbins and Shane Stanger have served up over a dozen homemade ice cream flavors, as well as several cookie and brownie recipes made from scratch. With an abundance of flavor combinations, guests are likely to satisfy their appetites at any time of the year.
