“Quickly, bring me a beaker of wine, so I may wet my mind and say something clever.” -Aristophanes

May 25 marks a special day for vino lovers everywhere: National Wine Day. From 4100 BC to present, wine has won the world over with thousands of varietals and myriad aromas and flavors.

Here are a few of our top picks for celebrating the nectar of the gods in style.

Wine for a Dime

Customers who buy a select bottle of wine with their dinner at Blue Boheme get to take a second bottle home for only a dime. In addition, more than 30 bottles on the French restaurant’s list are 50 percent off from open to close.

Housed in the Lakehouse Hotel & Resort in San Marcos, this event is part of an impressive Walkabout Wine Dinner Series. Hosted by Executive Chef David Warner and venue sommeliers, the dinners are priced at $65 - a veritable deal considering the quality of wines presented. The three course dinners run from 5-9 p.m., and guests can reserve their spots anytime within that window. Future events include Justin Winery on June 22 and The Prisoner Wine Company on July 27.
