Feeling anxious about all this kitchen action? There is still time to reinvent your culinary skills and impress your loved ones with a little help from San Diego cooking classes. Many cooking schools are hosting holiday-inspired classes with unique themes for all levels and interests.
This North Park cooking school provides hands-on cooking classes for novice newbies and seasoned chefs alike. Tasting is encouraged in these classes that include fresh, organic (whenever possible) ingredients, tools and supplies, wine tasting with dinner and a dinner party at the end.
Upcoming classes include Una Noche en Espana - a Tapas Class on Nov. 22, 29 and Dec. 11; One Dish Wonders on Nov. 30, Dec. 17; and J’aime, Paris! on Dec. 17 and 20. Classes are $65 per person.
Sur la Table - Fashion Valley
From classic recipes to international fare, Sur la Table’s hands-on cooking classes teach the proper techniques, overall cooking skills and specific recipes to take home. Classes are taught in an industrial kitchen with a TV and mirror over the stove, so students can all see the action.
Upcoming classes include Holiday Tamales on Nov. 27 and 28; Autumn Pies & Tarts on Dec. 5; Handmade Holiday Chocolates on Dec. 12; and a Stress-Free Holiday Dinner class on Dec. 15. Classes are $69-$79 per person.
Cozymeal connects foodies with professional chefs who offer both cooking classes and in-home cooking experiences. At the end of the class, everyone sits at a table and enjoys the dishes they prepared together. Cozymeal locations can take place in a student’s home or in a location of the chef’s choice.
Upcoming classes include Seasonal SoCal Fare on Nov. 25 and Southern California Winter Cooking on Dec. 6. Prices vary.
