S&M Sausage & Meat unveils new menu

S&M (Sausage & Meat) may have drawn me in with their Meat Monday deal of half off all sausages, but the tasty tube meat and various ways you can prepare them have me coming back again and again. The S&M menu features about 10 sausages varying from the simple Beer Brat (which I recommend as corn dog bites) and Whiskey Fennel to the more exotic Bison Chipotle and Alligator Andouille. 4130 Park Blvd., University Heights. S&M Sausage & Meat has been dishing out meaty treats in University Heights for almost two years now. In an effort to expand the menu and diversify their offerings, they’re now releasing a new menu with a little something for everyone.

First major highlight: more salads. For those looking to eat some greens alongside their sausage dinner, there is now an S&M house salad with mixed greens, dried apricot, red onions, roasted corn, tomato, shaved parm and roasted garlic.

Other new dishes include the short rib pad Thai, the lavender apro-quack sausage (a blend of duck, pork, apricot and lavender) and ahi poke kimchi nachos. Yep, you can now order ahi at S&M.

Another fun way to experience the heart of S&M is through the head to tail board, which includes pork cheeks, cola braised pulled pork shoulder, chicharrón, porchetta, belly bites and house cured charcuterie.

This week, the restaurant and bar is offering a free piece of the pig each day of the week. Today, Aug. 23, you can try the shoulder with a free pulled pork taco. Tomorrow, Aug. 24, order free pickled bacon. On Thursday, Aug. 25, try the skin with spicy chicharrones. And on Friday, Aug. 26, celebrate the end of the week with the rump of the pig, via a free beer brat.
