Sausage Fest boasts unlimited meat samples

Calling all sausage lovers. Work up an appetite and head downtown on Sunday to enjoy exclusive house-made sausages from S&M Sausage & Meat and Mastiff Sausage Co. If you’re feeling competitive, there will be a sausage eating contest where the winner will walk away with a year of free sausage from S&M. If you’re feeling crafty, for $15, you can participate in a sauerkraut or pickling class. Feel free to bring Fido along to this dog-friendly event. - Leslie Hackett, DSD 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The second annual San Diego Sausage Fest returns on Saturday, Aug. 27 at Waterfront Park downtown, offering guests the chance to sample an unlimited amount of gourmet sausages from local chefs, as well as dozens of beers to wash it all down.

Yup, it’s all the sausage you can eat in a five-hour window, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. There will also be live music and family-friendly games and activities.

Aside from the mass amounts of meat, expect live music to groove to as sausage links dance around your belly.


This event is for ages 21-and-up only. Tickets to the San Diego Sausage Fest start at $45 and include unlimited sausage and beer tastings. Ticket prices are expected to rise to $85.
