San Diego Festival of Beer returns to Broadway Pier
Live music and more than 60 different breweries will take over Broadway Pier for the 22nd annual San Diego Festival of Beer on Friday, Sept. 23 from 6 to 10 p.m. What’s special about this festival in particular is that it’s all about giving back through beer.
The event, hosted by San Diego Professionals Against Cancer, is fully staffed by volunteers. The event gives 100 percent of its proceeds to benefiting local cancer charities.
Local favorites will include Bagby Beer Company, Acoustic Ales, Fall Brewing Co., Ballast Point Brewing, Coronado Brewing, Wavelength Brewing Co., Thorn Street Brewery, Hillcrest Brewing Company, BNS, 32 North, Alesmith Brewing, Culture Brewing and many more. Some great out of town breweries will also be in attendance, such as Lagunitas Brewing, Deschutes Brewing and Firestone Walker.
Additional vendors on site bringing tasty food options include Devilicious, Gnarly Nachos, Criscito Pizza, Herb’n Donuts, Doggos Gus and Herb’n Donuts.
For those who aren’t beer lovers but want to take part in the fun, charitable evening, fine wines also will be sold for $4 to $5 per pour.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at ticketderby.com. Tickets admit you into the festival and come with unlimited tastings of one 2-ounce pour at a time. Designated driver tickets are available for $30.
