Restaurants all across San Diego will offer bivalve specials in anticipation of National Oyster Day on Saturday. Grab a plate and shuck away.

Stake Chophouse & Bar will offer an extended oyster happy hour with selections priced at $1.25 each. 1309 Orange Ave, Coronado. (619) 522-0077 or stakechophouse.com

Blue Point Coastal Cuisine in the Gaslamp will offer $1 oysters, along with jumbo shrimp.for $2 and a selection of $5 wines and beers. 5 to 6:30 p.m. 565 Fifth Ave, San Diego. (619) 233-6623.

Ironside Fish & Oyster in Little Italy is hosting its annual charity-driven Shuck-A-Thon. Local fishermen and women will be competing against executive chef Jason McLeod for the most shucked oysters.
