Celebrate National Ice Cream Month in San Diego

Here’s the scoop: Did you know that in 1984 President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream Month and July 15 as National Ice Cream Day? He recognized ice cream as “a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by over 90 percent of the nation’s population.” In Proclamation 5219, President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe these events with “appropriate ceremonies and activities. Soda & Swine at Liberty Station is whipping up milkshakes with names like the 21st Reg-a-Mint ($6), made with vanilla ice cream, mint, chocolate chips and chocolate sauce; and Rolling in the Dough ($6), a mix of vanilla ice cream and cookie dough.
