Start your morning with a jolt of java Friday - it’s National Coffee Day


Get your caffeine fix, San Diego. Friday is National Coffee Day. Restaurants countywide are celebrating the day with specials devoted to our favorite morning beverage.

Pappalecco Cafe will serve $2 cappuccinos from 7 to 11 a.m. and share some Italian coffee traditions with patrons. The cafe is located in Cardiff, Del Mar, Hillcrest, Kensington and Little Italy.

Coava Coffee Roasters, downtown San Diego’s new brew bar, will offer a cup of cold brew on the house from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. 400 W. Broadway, San Diego.

Breakfast Republic will offer a Specialty Oreo Cookie Latte, made with espresso, steamed milk and the flavor of an Oreo cookie. The drink is finished off with whip cream and Oreo cookie sprinkles. If that’s too sweet for your tooth, there are other morning beverages to choose from. Park 101 barristas will be percolating fresh espresso, regular and specialty coffees, including The Zoolander, an orange mocha frappacchino, named after the famed movie. Fig Tree Café will offer a Caffeine Sampler, a flight of three coffee beverages, a combination of three four-ounce tastes: a mocha, latte and Mexican mocha. Dunkin’ Donuts will pour the coffee love with a buy one hot coffee, get the second hot coffee for free.
