Get cheesy: Mac ‘n’ Cheese Fest returns to Waterfront Park
Oh yes, it is time again to grub on the gourmet version of that delicious combination known as macaroni and cheese at the second annual San Diego Mac ‘n’ Cheese Fest, taking place Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The 21-and-up festival showcases gourmet mac ‘n’ cheese, handcrafted by local restaurants across San Diego. This year’s fest will feature some of the most notable mac ‘n’ cheese dishes in San Diego from West Coast Tavern, Devil Dogs BBQ, Brothers Provisions, Starlite, Noodles & Company World Kitchen, Rustic Root, Bagby Beer Company, Urge Gastropub, Stella Public House, Stacked and more.
The restaurants will be competing for the title of Best Gourmet Mac ‘n’ Cheese in San Diego and People’s Choice Best Mac ‘n’ Cheese. Last year’s people’s choice went to Quad Ale House.
Also on deck are a plethora of local brews and wines from Oggis, Gordon Biersch, Coronado Brewing, Bagby Beer Company, Urban Cidery, Mission Brewery, Rock Bottom Brewery and Barefoot Bubbly.
A ticket to the fest includes mac ‘n’ cheese tastings, in addition to 10 beer tasters. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at purplepass.com.
