Do Me a Flavor
BEAR COOKIE
No need to get caught with your hand in the cookie jar when you can get your paws on a dessert-like concoction straight from the taps at Vista’s small-but-sturdy Bear Roots Brewing. Installed by a husband-and-wife team in the belly of their existing homebrew-supply shop, this nano-sized operation is receiving rave reviews for quality beers best exemplified by this semisweet, nutty, chocolaty concoction brewed with cacao nibs and peanut butter.

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE
If there is any upside to tragedy, it’s added perspective, renewed respect for life and the spirit of communal love and support that such negative events evoke. In response to the June mass-shootings at Pulse Nightclub in Florida, Karl Strauss brewmaster Paul Segura teamed up with LGBTQ operation Hillcrest Brewing to create this red ale to raise money in support of survivors and families of the deceased. This single act of kindness, acceptance and humanity inspired brewers throughout the county to brew their own beers under the same moniker, each with the same mission to send love, understanding and much-needed donations to non-profits doing work to repair the damage in Orlando.
