Civico 1845 gives back to Italian earthquake victims
Delicious pasta is always a good thing, especially when had in the heart of Little Italy here in San Diego. It gets even better when the proceeds of your dish give back to a very important cause.
For two weeks, starting Monday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 12, Little Italy’s Civico 1845 will be donating all of the proceeds from their Pasta all’Amatriciana dish to the disaster relief efforts in Italy. The traditional meal will pay homage to the famous dish made in Amatrice, Italy, the location of the earthquake’s epicenter. Customers can order it up for lunch or dinner to help give back.
The $16 spaghetti dish is made with tomato sauce and Guanciale and Pecorino Romano cheeses.
At least 247 people were killed after a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck central Italy on Wednesday, Aug. 24, according to Italy’s Civil Protection Department. More than 1,000 people have been displaced by the quake.
