The best bikeable craft beverage spots in Point Loma

Share

When thinking of easy-to-navigate, destination drinking locations in San Diego, you may not think Point Loma straight off the bat. The community, though, offers stellar craft drinks and bars for patrons to enjoy and is really quite easy to navigate via bike.

So grab a bike and check out some of these must-drink locations, ideal for a bite and an adult beverage or two (but of course, be careful of biking under the influence).

Point Loma Seafoods

With stellar views of the Point Loma harbor and a variety of fresh and local seafood, this is a popular spot for locals. You can order up fresh fish anyway you like here, be it in a handmade sushi roll, a grilled fish sandwich, a seafood cocktail or on a plate served with fries and coleslaw. Wine and beer are both on the menu here, but it is the price of beer that keeps customers coming back. It’s just $6 for a 20-ounce pour of a tasty craft brew, such as Alesmith .394.

Fathom Bistro Bait & Tackle

This little bistro packs a mean craft beer punch. They offer a killer tap list with top local brews and national favorites, such as Sierra Nevada, Avery, Russian River and more. They also serve up a wide variety of crave-worthy dishes, from sandwiches and burgers, to lumpia and specialty sausages. It is the only craft beer bar on Shelter Island to boot.

The Pearl

Whether you want to stop in for a bite at the restaurant or catch a flick at the dive-in theater, this boutique hotel is a unique Point Loma hot spot. The restaurant offers brunch, lunch and dinner daily, in addition to a delicious specialty cocktail list. Movies are typically “throwback” films that are shown on a 10-by-13-inch projection screen, which sits above the pool lounge. Movies are free to attend each Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. Upcoming films and information about restaurant reservations are available online.

Winos, this one is for you. The Wine Pub provides its guests with more than 25 different wine options from all across the world at any given time. The food here is designed for pairing with their vino offerings, making it an easy choice for a date-night spot to cruise to. Lunch and dinner menu options include a plentiful variety of starters and larger entree options, including fresh salads, paninis, sliders and more.
