Beer and wine experts compete for palates
A little competition never hurt anybody, but this competition will definitely feed everybody.
Two beverage experts will face each other in a food-pairing duel - beer versus wine - on Tuesday evening, March 21, at Leroy’s Kitchen + Lounge in Coronado. While Executive Chef Tim Kolanko and Chef de Cuisine Ronnie Schwandt of Leroy’s prepare a four-course dinner, beer specialist Brian Jensen and wine connoisseur Greg Majors will compete to pair the best drink with the meal. Diners will then vote for their favorite pairings while learning from the experts.
While enjoying their meals, guests can expect to taste beverages from the experts’ well-acclaimed businesses. Jensen, owner of Bottlecraft Beer Shop and Tasting Room, has specialized in curating craft beer in his craft beer boutique and bar since 2011. Similarly, after an extensive wine career in New York City, Majors now operates Grape Smuggler, a tapas bar and wine and spirits shop in Liberty Public Market in Point Loma. With these backgrounds, Jensen and Majors will surely bring their A-game.
Guests can reserve tickets at 619.437.6087.
6-8:30 p.m. March 21, Leroy’s Kitchen + Lounge, 1015 Orange Ave., Coronado. $55. leroyskitchenandlounge.com
