Beer plus sake equals one hell of a time at Harrah’s Resort SoCal. The 15th annual Beer & Sake Festival, hosted by the Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana, is returning to North County from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, June 16 with local craft beer, delicious sake and a unique evening to celebrate the two beverages.
Participating breweries and sake makers at this year’s festival include Ichishima Sake Brewery, Choya, Coedo Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, SR76 Beerworks, Sapporo Beer, Artifex Brewing Company, Lightning Brewery, Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits, Kuracali Sake and Beer Company, and more.
The festival will offer appetizers from a variety of restaurants - so you will be able to snack while you imbibe - from local favorites such as The Cork and Craft, Azuki Sushi and Hachi Ramen. There also will be art booths and live music, as well as a silent auction and raffle.
Oh, and if you need something to keep you eyes busy while sipping that sake, have no fear. The San Diego Taiko will host a tuna cutting demonstration and a sword-fighting demonstration during the festival. All proceeds from the festival will go toward supporting educational and community outreach programs.
Tickets are $40 for members of Harrah’s total rewards and Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana members; $60 for non-members. The hotel is also offering 20 percent-off hotel rates during the festival, for those who would like to book a stay afterward. Tickets can be purchased at eventbrite.com.
