Independence Day is all about grilling. These San Diego restaurants are celebrating in style with their take on barbecue and picnic fare.

Carnitas’ Snack Shack is hosting its second annual 4th of July Neighborhood Cookout. The block party includes grilled meats like burgers and hot dogs, a tap takeover from a local brewery, signature cocktails, corn hole toss, back-to-back live music performances and a front row view of the Big Bay Boom fireworks extravaganza. Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa will celebrate the Fourth of July with an intimate all-American BBQ dinner and fireworks show. Harbor Float at Coasterra guests will enjoy a celebration on the bay with unlimited access to food stations, including a taco bar with carne asada, carnitas and local swordfish; a raw bar with oysters, clams, mussels, Mexican white shrimp, Tijuana-style ceviche; and house-made salsas and guacamole. Julian Hot Cider and Donut Bar will partner to host a patriotic themed-party, “American to the Core.” This family-friendly gala features red, white and blue cider for adults, fresh-pressed apple juice for the kids and American-themed donuts.
