Beer: There’s an app for that
This isn’t your ordinary tourist-guide or local-yokel app. Thanks to a collaboration between the San Diego Brewers Guild and beer-centric marketing agency Paradeigm the Capital of Craft, aka San Diego, beer and a whole lot of other cool bells and whistles are at your fingertip.
Want to get a peek inside a tasting room or brewery you’re thinking of visiting? Check. Interactive map, check. Drank too much and need a Lyft? Check. Featured beer list for SD Brewers Guild festivals, check. Plus beer releases, trivia nights, live music and so much more from San Diego’s 150+ breweries.
“The San Diego Brewers Guild is committed to promoting its brewery members and educating consumers why supporting independent beer matters,” said SDBG President and Rip Current Brewing co-founder & brewmaster Paul Sangster in a recent press release. “SD BEER App is one of the ways we’re serving all of our members, as it’s the perfect tool for helping locals and tourists alike easily find events, breweries, bars and restaurants serving craft beers!”
The app was in its early stages during the recent Rhythm and Brews festival held by the SDBG in Vista earlier in May. Attendees were able to purchase tickets through the app and get a look at the brewery lineup.
For this year’s San Diego Beer Week in November users will be able to browse specialty events around the county, as well as buy tickets to the Guild Fest kickoff party on Nov. 3.
The new app is available on both Android and iOS devices. Learn more or download the app at sdbeer.com/app.
