Draft welcomes fall with new brews and food
This fall is shaping up to be an awesome month for craft beer, especially with Draft Mission Beach serving up a plethora of new food, beer and tons of awesome specials throughout October and November.
First off, Oktoberfest will taking over every Wednesday in October. The Draft Mission Beach patio will be made to feel like Germany from 6 to 8 p.m. with a local brewery and food pairing to compliment. Green Flash, Karl Strauss, Coronado Brewing and Modern Times are all on the list to showcase some of their unique brews during the festivities. A $15 ticket will cover all of your beer tastings and treats, and can be purchased at draftsandiego.com.
Right after Oktoberfest comes to a halt, we have San Diego Beer Week to look forward to starting on Nov. 9. Draft will be hosting a couple of events throughout the week with chances to try some exclusive new beers paired with homemade Draft snacks.
Tuesday, Nov. 10 will be flight night, where all attendees will receive a “boarding pass” to try beers from Lagunitas, Green Flash, Modern Times and Coronado Brewing. This event will also include food pairings from the Draft kitchen. 4- 9 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 11 is Red, White and Brews night. The event will celebrate all those who have served in the U.S. military. Lagunitas will be hosting a tap-takeover featuring live music from The Yes Team. 7-10 p.m.
Saturday Nov. 14 Come have beer for breakfast! The event will include an exclusive tasting of Coronado’s newest beer: their imperial coffee stout, the ideal wake-me-up elixir. Of course, breakfast will also be available at the meet-up. The brewer will be in attendance to discuss beer happenings with all brewing nerds. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As for the new food items, Drafters can expect fall favorites like carmel apple pancakes and comfort food like the chicken mole hash which includes eggs, potatoes, queso fresco, roasted chilies, pickled onions and jalepenos. Bring on the fall!
