Experience a tropical haven at Polite Provisions
With weather as nice as San Diego’s, the word “vacation” feels like a constant mood. Polite Provisions will be shaking up tropical vibes at its elevated Normal Heights establishment for a one-night only event on Monday, Feb. 12.
“Valentiki Takeover” will have Erik Castro from Polite Provisions and Paul McGee from Chicago’s Lost Lake collaborating and upscaling tropical cocktails. The drinks will incorporate traditional tropical flavors such as pineapple, banana and passionfruit while also mixing it up with unique elements such as cold brew.
Some of the drink features will include Lost Lake (a passionfruit, pineapple, lime concoction), Bunny’s Banana Daiquiri (a banana twist to a well-known classic) and Waikiki at Dusk Forever (a rum-heavy blend that includes cold brew coffee).
The event goes from 6-10 p.m. on Feb. 12, with no cover charge. Come dressed to impress in your best Tiki duds.
If by the end of the event you’re begging for more, the Polite Provisions bar team plans to return the favor and visit Lost Lake Mar. 10 and 11 for a similar tiki takeover event. Chicago in March is not exactly a tropical escape, but the drinks may make it feel that way.
