Sip the neighborhood
San Diego’s various neighborhoods each have a unique style. And now, thanks to a new project from Level2 at George’s at the Cove in La Jolla, each has its own spirit, too.
To mark the second anniversary its monthly Craft at the Cove event, the team behind Level2 created 23 original cocktails inspired by San Diego neighborhoods.
From the signature sea-inspired La Jolla cocktail (also known as Sea³) to the botanically fresh Balboa Park and down to the border with the smoky San Ysidro cocktail, the creations are available at the bar and in as recipes in a hardbound book.
“With our new concept menu, a first for this market, we are telling the story of San Diego through cocktails that embody a particular place, and in doing so providing a nod to the vibrant neighborhoods that make our city so distinct,” said Stephen Kurpinsky, spirits/beer director and barman at Level2.
The Neighborhoods of San Diego book is available for purchase at the bar and restaurant for $25. The cocktails will be available on the bar menu for most of 2018 when the bar team plans to release their next concept menu next fall.
Whether looking to try a Neighborhoods of San Diego cocktail, pony up to the bar for the next Craft at the Cove event or visit for late night happy hour, find the latest info about Level2 at georgesatthecove.com/level2 or follow them on social media at @georgeslevel2 and @georgesatthecove.
