Learn to make holiday cocktails from a pro

Erick Castro, owner of Polite Provisions, wants to teach you how to make a proper cocktail just in time for the holidays.

The Spirits Society returns on Monday, Dec. 5 and Monday, Dec. 19, where cocktail connoisseurs-in-training can learn the art of creating drinks from scratch. The two-hour classes go through the history of three different cocktails, and then teach students the careful technique of how to measure, shake, stir and pour each drink.

Each student will have his or her own personal workstation complete with all the necessary jiggers, strainers, glasses and ingredients to mix up three distinct cocktails with Castro.

Classes are limited to 14 attendees, and tickets are $60 per person. Each session runs from 6 to 8 p.m.
