How much rum can you drink?

Remember last year’s Rum Fest? If you attended, then probably not. That’s a good thing, considering Hiatus Lounge in Hotel La Jolla started their series of spirits festivals in order to get locals acquainted with the liquor by offering endless cocktails.

Now, they’re doing it all over again. Bring on the rum!

The second annual Rum Fest will take place on Saturday, May 23 from 2 to 5 p.m. in Hiatus Lounge. Guests can sip up a variety of premium brands like Bacardi, Malahat, Owney’s, Papa’s Pilar, Rhum Clement, Flor de Cana, Brugal, Mount Gay and Zaya.

Slow roasted food off the grill will also be up for grabs, plus classic tiki cocktails at the bar. A $10 ticket to the Rum Fest includes a passport for unlimited tastings. Guests with a completed passport can enter into the Rum Fest drawing, which features boozy prizes.
