The Grass Skirt to host bar takeover nights

The Grass Skirt tiki bar in Pacific Beach is getting into the collaborative spirit. During November, the P.B. restaurant/bar will play host to bar takeovers with three drinking destinations selected by its beverage director, Steven Tuttle, throughout November.

For those who fancy exclusive bar experiences, The Grass Skirt will look to Campfire, Smoking Gun and CoinOp to bring innovative cocktail experiences to the beach. Here’s a rundown of what to expect from each of the participating bars.

Through 11.9: Campfire

Campfire in Carlsbad is known for its fire-inspired cooking techniques and innovative cocktails from Bar Manager Leigh Lacap. During the pop-up collaboration at the Grass Skirt, Lacap will offer cocktails that match The Grass Skirt’s tiki vibe. Drinks will include The Swanton Bomb, a coconut butter rum drink infused with lemongrass, orange, pineapple, lime, nutmeg and padan, as well as the La Bomba, a concoction of gin, cognac, papaya, lemon, cinnamon and roasted pistachio.

11.14-16: The Smoking Gun

It may be the newbie in town, but The Smoking Gun will bring comfortable, casual cocktails from bartender Eric Johnson’s program at the downtown locale.
