Top 3 spots to grab a cheap, quality cocktail
When you’re mobbing around town with your gang of friends, it’s easy for one delicious craft cocktail to become three, and suddenly you’ve just shelled out a steep $50, not including your (obviously) generous tip. There are ways, though, to avoid this issue by being a bit more aware of where you go and what you order.
Check out a few of our go-to spots for sipping specialty drinks on the cheap in San Diego.
El Dorado
One of the top spots to get a consistently cheap and well-made cocktail is El Dorado. This place offers $9 signature cocktails daily. Oh, and during happy hour, house favorites like the Cha Cha Cha with tequila, lime, pineapple and spicy jalapeno shrub are just $6.

Starlite
Happy hour is 5 to 7 p.m. daily at this beloved hot spot, offering $2 off each of their hand-crafted cocktails. If mules are your thing, you’ll love Wednesdays at Starlite. Enjoy $8 Kentucky colonels all night, made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, ginger beer, lemon juice and house-made cherry vanilla bitters. Cheers!

Seven Grand
North Park’s favorite whiskey stop, Seven Grand, offers $5 cocktails during happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.Monday through Friday. This includes their signature draft old fashioned, made with Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon, angostura bitters and raw sugar. You can also branch out with choices such as the Doubtfire, made with Black Grouse blended Scotch, house-made almond syrup, fresh lemon juice, fresh mint leaves and R&D cherry-apple bitters.
