Play video games, drink beer at Coin Haus
Calling all beer-loving, gamer nerds! The age of old-school, vintage video games has certainly made comeback in modern society, as evidenced by the revamp of Pokemon via Pokemon Go and the success of several booze-and-play arcades in San Diego. The latest addition to this trend is a brand new barcade, Coin Haus, that has just opened doors in La Mesa.
The barcade, owned by Cohn Restaurant Group, will offer a do-it-yourself, self-serve beer bar in their tap room, featuring over 50 different beers on tap. Beyond beer, guests can also sip on Boochcraft or cold brew coffee while gaming.
Games at the barcade range from classic options like Super Mario Bros and Frogger to more new-age games, like Game of Thrones and Ghostbusters pinball.
Guests can purchase games and drinks beforehand on a convenient wristband that they can simply scan each time they play a game or grab a brew. The new bar will have a daily “hoppy hour” before 6 p.m. that will offer customers 20-percent-off of beer and games.
The new establishment will be open seven days a week and is located at 8361 Allison Ave., La Mesa.
