Neighborhood celebrates 10 years with big anniversary bash
Ten years ago, when East Village was at the beginning of its current transformation, Arsalun Tafazoli (now co-owner of Consortium Holdings) opened the doors of Neighborhood. Since then, the beer-forward bar and restaurant has won numerous awards, including a nod in 2009’s “Top 200 Best Beer Bars in America” from Draft Magazine, and made a notable mark on the community in which it stands.
In celebration of all its successes, the urban eatery is doing it up big for its 10th anniversary party on Saturday, June 17. From 1-6 p.m., Eighth Street between Market and G streets will close down for a city-block affair that will bring San Diego breweries, restaurants and craft cocktail bars together. And, if that weren’t enough, hip hop artist Talib Kweli will perform.
On hand producing delicious bites alongside Neighborhood will be Cowboy Star, Herb & Wood, Ironside Fish & Oyster, Kindred, Nomad Donuts, Soda & Swine, and Super Natural Sandwiches. To name a few breweries, there will be Alesmith, Fall Brewing, Modern Times and Societe. Craft cocktails offerings (which are not included in the entrance fee) will come from El Dorado, False Idol, Nobel Experiment (the hidden speakeasy behind Neighborhood) and Polite Provisions.
Help celebrate this anti-ketchup, burger-eating Jesus, trendsetting downtown eatery in style.
Tickets for the event are $45 and include food, beer and the performance from Talib Kweli, and can be purchased on eventbrite.com. A portion of the ticket prices will benefit Inika Small Earth. This is event is 21+.
