Comic Con is one of the most unique festivals to come through San Diego. The world’s sexiest celebs gather in town along with the geeks and freaks for the time of year where everyone in town is a performer and every piece of real estate is up for grabs (this just in: Universal plans to wrap every Prius in town, and their owners). Last year’s celeb sightings ranged from True Blood hunks Alexandar Skarsgard and Joe Mangianello, Anna Kendrick, Seth Green, Robert Downey Jr., Colin Farrel, Nikki Reed, Kellen Lutz and the cast of Twilight, Guillermo Del Toro, Jaime King, John C. Reilly, Morgan Spurlock, and many more.

This year, expect celebs by the boatload. TVGuide is literally rolling up on the yacht Leightstar with a celebrity line-up including Neil Patrick Harris, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kevin Bacon, Megan Mullaly, and Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Lawrence, Minka Kelly, and Aaron Paul among others. Metallica is in town promoting their film and secret Friday night concert, and of course, our favorite too-hot-to-be-geeky casts will be hanging around including the likes of True Blood, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Workaholics, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Celeb-spotting sites at Comic Con

W - The W San Diego is walking distance from the city’s lively Gaslamp Quarter and home to a bundle of celebs during Comic Con including The Wanted, Shia Labeouf and Lil Kim. To celebrate Comic-Con, the W’s Rooftop Bar is offering Comic-Con inspired cocktails along with cityscape views of all the superhero happenings.

Hard Rock - Perfect for Comic?Con crazed fans. Past celebs include Ashton Kutcher, Kendra Wilkinson, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Christina Aguilera. Hard Rock will be hosting some of the biggest most exclusive parties at Comic Con including the EW party on Saturday night.

Katsuya - Last Comic-Con, Katsuya by Starck was host to tons of celebrity sightings. To celebrate Comic-Con this year, Katsuya by Starck will be offering a special five?item social hour menu inspired by The Hunger Games.

Bang Bang - The newest Gaslamp restaurant and social club is hosting the Newport Beach Film Festival Party on Saturday so you know it’s on industry radar.

Super Hero Party at Side Bar
Attending Comic-Con preview night on Wednesday? Celebrate your sneak peek at Side Bar’s super hero themed Industry Night party. If you dress up as your favorite super hero, you’ll get hooked up with free cover and drink specials. And you won’t be alone; bartenders, VIP hosts and bottle service girls will be decked out in super hero attire, from Superman to Spiderman and Catwoman.

Machinima Mahem at Fluxx
Fluxx is always a great place for celeb watching, Usher, Ashton Kutcher, Kellen Lutz, Jessica Biel have all been spotted there. This Thursday night Machina hosts their annual machinima mayhem party. This event is invite only BUT zombies and cosplayers can win tickets by stopping by the Machinima Lounge set up at Fluxx during the day. FLUXX will be open to the public Friday and Saturday. Get in the Comic Con mood with their new theme, Arcade.

Cartoon Carnival at Andaz
On Thursday night Andaz Nightclub presents their Comic Con party with drink specials and free entry with costumes.

Game of Thrones beer tasting at Wired Cafe
Enjoy an exclusive tasting of Take the Black Stout from 6-7 p.m at the Wired Lounge at the Omni Hotel across from the Convention Center. This event is invitation only. (Wired Cafe will be open Thursday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on the sixth floor of the Omni.)

Comedy Central Comic-Con Party at Hard Rock Hotel
From 1pm-4pm Comedy Central is hosting a meet and greet with Blake, Adam, Ders and Kyle from Workaholics, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele from Key & Peele, David Herman, Tom Kenny, Natasha Leggero, and Jerry Minor from Brickleberry, comedian Chris Hardwick, and other like-minded folks. This event is open to the public on a first come first served basis

Random Metallica Concert
The guys from Metallica are in town with their new movie and will be performing a live (secret!) show on Friday night for Comic Con fans. Tune into other Comic Con fans newsfeeds Friday night to find out the sweet spot.

Universal Pictures and Playboy’s Kick Ass 2 Party (Parking lot pimpin’)
Friday night parking lot parties will be in full swing. This invite only event features a red carpet (grab your iphone!) and will feature cast and crew from the film. Will kiddie super-heroes measure up to last year’s blood-thirsty sex-fiends from Tru Blood? Check back here Monday and see.

The Walking Dead 10th Anniversary Celebration
One parking lot down the road on Island and Seventh, comics creator Robert Kirkman joins stars from the show along with fans like Paul Wesley, Neil Patrick Harris, Olivia Munn, Julie Benz and more to toast the long-running graphic novels. This invitation-only event features a special performance by Weezer at 9 p.m.

Maxim FX Comic-Con bash at Andaz Rooftop
Invite only guests will enjoy music from Jermaine Dupri as they mingle among the casts of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia among others.

Eric Andre at House of Blues
Adult Swim + iHEARTCOMIX present The Eric Andre Show Live! Co-Hosted by Hannibal Buress. Tickets for the show are available at House of Blues San Diego.

Heroes Brew Beer Festival
Finally, the craft beer scene invades Comic-Con. Heroes Brew is a superhero themed craft beer festival taking place at the Embarcadero Park North, behind the Convention Center. Karl Strauss, Aztec, Iron Fist, Ballast Point and more craft breweries will be on-site. Expect a costume contest, bands and food trucks. Proceeds benefit the San Diego Coast Keeper and Surfrider Foundation.

Redemption: The Darkness Descending fan launch party at Vin De Syrah
Party with cast members Danny Trejo from 4pm-7pm at Vin De Syrah. This is a free event and open to the public, so start getting down early on.

Entertainment Weekly Comic Con Party at Hard Rock Hotel
Entertainment Weekly hosts THE party to try to be at. This exclusive, invite-only event is one to watch, or at least try to. Rumored to attend- casts of Walking Dead, Arrow, Workaholics, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Game of Thrones, Seth Green and his team from Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, Joe Manganiello and more.
