Monster Bash will creep into Gaslamp Oct. 28
San Diego’s favorite Halloween party returns to the Gaslamp Quarter on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 6 p.m. to midnight. The 16th annual Monster Bash, presented by Dos Equis and Sailor Jerry, promises a haunted extravaganza spanning eight city blocks with five themed stages and more than 20 DJs.
Costumed revelers will compete in the Monster Bash Costume Contest, with a $5,000 cash prize going to the partygoer with the most creative, over-the-top ensemble.
The delightfully creepy and twisted stages offer something for everyone, as trap, EDM, hip-hop, house and progressive artists perform all evening. The Scary Tales Stage brings childhood stories to life with sinister twists. Ignore the broken toys and dead stares of discarded dolls at the Doll House Stage. Enter a bone-chilling world drained of color at the Wicked Whitelands Stage. Dance under thousands of sugar skulls and departed spirits at the Dia de los Muertos Stage. The dark dungeon of the Dia de los Muertos Stage also hosts the infamous costume contest and up-and-coming artists.
Monster Bash has lined up a diverse array of DJs and artists with sets designed to transport partygoers into supernatural realms as they celebrate horror and terror. Get ready for tunes from Will Sparks, Vicetone, Vanilla Ace, Hood Boy, Meaux Green, All Gold, Fresh & Cutz and more.
Those who upgrade to a VIP ticket can also experience the ‘90s Horror House. It’s a bloody block of terror that displays the perilous fates suffered by iconic ‘90s stars, while old school hip-hop and ‘90s jams keep the party going. VIPs can also cash in on six complementary drinks, private seating, private restrooms and more sinful perks, including free cover at 25 restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp Quarter and East Village on Oct. 29.
Monster Bash tickets are available at sandiegomonsterbash.com. General admission tickets are $50 through Oct. 18, $60 through Oct. 28 and $65 at the door. VIP tickets are $100 through Oct. 18, $110 through Oct. 28 and $120 at the door - and are expected to sell out. Discounts are offered for active and retired military. Monster Bash is a 21-and-over event and all partygoers must have a valid photo ID to enter.
