Who makes San Diego’s best margarita?
The long-awaited month of margaritas has arrived. May, aka Margarita Month, means bars and restaurants across the city are coming together to celebrate San Diego’s original craft cocktail by offering their signature and supreme versions at a discount for the entire month.
After all is said and drank, one margarita will be crowned the city’s best, and one margarita drinker will win $1,550 in the form of $50 gift certificates from every participating venue.
So grab a friend and an Uber and try as many margaritas as you can throughout May, hashtagging #margaritamonth and your favorite venues along the way. Then, on Saturday, June 11, join 1,000 people at the Grand Tasting Event at Horton Grand Hotel to taste all the margaritas in one place, meet and mingle with dozens of San Diego’s top bartenders, savor a smattering of tacos magnificos and take a swing at a piñata while rockin’ out to Mariachi mayhem.
Sponsored by the fiesta fans at Milagro Tequila, who remind you to drink responsibly (obviously).
Venues competing for the 2016 title of Best Margarita in San Diego are: 1919, Barra Barra Saloon, Bootlegger, Bub’s at the Beach, Bub’s at the Ballpark, Cat Eye Club, Cerveza Jack’s, Coasterra, Don Chido, Firehouse American Eatery + Lounge, Florent Restaurant & Lounge, Galaxy Taco, Hello Betty Fish House, Indigo Grill, Level2 at George’s at the Cove, Oceana Coastal Kitchen, Park & Rec, Puesto, Sandbar Sports Grill, Tavern, The Blind Burro, The Deck at Moonshine Flats, The Duck Dive, The Local Eatery & Drinking Hole, The Local Pacific Beach, The Prado at Balboa Park, The Rabbit Hole, Tin Roof, True North Tavern, Uptown Tavern and Wonderland Ocean Pub.
