East Village Tavern+Bowl does Taco Tuesday right

Share

Serving the kind of ridiculously delicious tacos available all day every Tuesday at East Village Tavern+Bowl should be against the law. Thankfully, for foodies in the San Diego area, it is perfectly legal.

Guests who stop by on any given Tuesday will be treated to their choice of $2 chicken, beef or pork tacos. Also on special are Espolón Tequila and Dos Equis Ambar draft beer, which can be enjoyed for $2.50 and $3, respectively. Patrons who are feeling particularly feisty can combine all three options for just $6!

Taco Tuesday started a year ago at Costa Mesa 55 Tavern+Bowl and was so well received by patrons that owner Dan Hurd decided to integrate the special into Tavern+Bowl’s other three San Diego locations in East Village, EastLake, and North County. “We continue to see popularity build each week,” Hurd said. “Our customers will order the combo just to get the Espolón shot and Dos Equis beer. Espolón is a very popular tequila and at this price, it’s a steal.”

After indulging in the Taco Tuesday special, guests can stick around to bowl a few games. At East Village Tavern+Bowl, rates per game are $3 before 4 p.m. and $4.75 from 4 p.m. until closing (shoe rentals are an extra $3.75 per person). According to Hurd, “We’ve always wanted to be known as a family-friendly sports tavern and excellent restaurant that provides bowling as a form of entertainment, as opposed to a bowling facility that happens to serve food and beverages.”

For the discerning crowd looking for more than a dingy table in a dark corner of a bar, East Village Tavern+Bowl is worth the trip. For more information about Taco Tuesday or other featured specials, visit the Tavern+Bowl website or call 619-677-BOWL (2695).
