Timing is everything, right? With the recent release of the otherwise unannounced “Lemonade” album, Beyoncé's Formation World Tour has suddenly become even better than originally billed - and that was pretty good to start with. The singer’s sixth solo album (and second to be accompanied by its own film) explores infidelity in her own marriage and is her strongest to date. 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Qualcomm Stadium, 9449 Friars Road, Mission Valley. $45-$650. All Ages. (619) 641-3100 or sandiego.gov/qualcomm (Frank Micelotta / Invision for Parkwood Entertainm)

Are you part of the Bey Hive or a die-hard Rihanna fan? Take your pop music-fueled passion to the dance floor.

On Friday night, the Music Box in Little Italy (formerly Anthology) brings fans the Beyonce vs. Rihanna Tribute and Dance Party, part of an ongoing series (Drake vs. Kanye battled it out in the last one) with a strict “no remixes and no mashups of songs” policy.

Whether you “Run the World” or wanna “Work work work work work,” pick your side and find your best dancing shoes. 1,200 people got down to Bey and Riri in San Francisco at the last sold-out installment of this party.

Doors open at 8 p.m. Party starts at 9:30 p.m. 21-and-up only.

Friday. Music Box San Diego, 1337 India St., Little Italy. $15 general admission; $30 reserved seating. musicboxsd.com
