Ducks, Turtles and W00ts
If you missed Wednesday night’s Hop Con beer festival at Stone Liberty Station, worry not. You still have time to dunk your Comic-Con experience in a pitcher of craft beer.
First, go shopping. Stone’s annual Con-themed beer, Stone Farking Wheaton w00tstout — an imperial stout, aged in bourbon barrels and made with pecans and rye and wheat malts — has been issued in 12-packs. A collaboration among the actor Wil Wheaton; Drew Curtis, creator of the Fark.com web site; and Greg Koch, Stone’s co-founder, w00tstout is strong (11.5 percent alcohol by volume) with a strong following
Next, spend happy hour with Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. On Saturday at 6 p.m., and then at 8:30 p.m., Eastman and two TMNT artists, David Avallone and Ben Bishop, will schmooze with fans in Duck Foot Brewing’s tasting room, 550 Park Blvd., Ste. 2104.
Each session is limited to 50 guests for maximum schmoozability. Admission, $50, includes an hour hanging with Team TMNT, a pour of Drawing Blood Orange beer, an autographed can of the same brew and gluten-free Brazilian cheeseballs.
