January Restaurant Week to feature Girl Scout cookies

It's every foodie's favorite time of year - San Diego Restaurant Week is back from Sunday, Jan. 15 through Sunday, Jan. 22. As usual, more than 160 restaurants all around the county will offer three-course prix-fixe dinner menus for $20, $30, $40 or $50 per person and two-course prix-fixe lunch menus for $10, $15 or $20 per person.

This time, San Diego Restaurant Week is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts in San Diego (the first troop started in Coronado in January 1917) and the 100th anniversary of the much-loved Girl Scout cookies. San Diego chefs are getting creative and incorporating Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos and other cookies into special recipes for Restaurant Week.

Get ready to be surprised - sure, you'll find your favorite cookies in decadent desserts, but some restaurants are planning savory dishes as well. Depending on where you dine, you might get to taste Samoas Crusted Fried Shrimp, Do-Si-Dos Peanut Thai Chicken, salads with Trefoil croutons and more.

Restaurant Week is the perfect opportunity to taste a new dish at a favorite restaurant or try an eatery you've yet to visit - join more than 150,000 other diners to indulge in San Diego's diverse and growing culinary scene.

Tickets are not necessary at any participating restaurants, but reservations are recommended.
