Nail salon brings posh services to Barrio Logan

Owner hopes it will be a place where someone could have a glass of wine and catch up while getting pampered.

A new nail salon in Barrio Logan, Posh & Polished, offers an upscale salon experience at reasonable prices. Owner Lorena Abraham said she “had a vision of a nail salon that could be a place to spend quality time with old friends and meet new ones — a place where someone could have a glass of wine and catch up while getting pampered.”

The vibe at Posh & Polished is akin to a welcoming lounge. There is comfortable seating (including six modern spa chairs with a massage function), six manicure stations, a 46-inch TV showing relaxing nature DVDs and a private room for waxing and facials. Ambient lighting and a visually soothing interior design scheme makes guests feel even more relaxed.

Aestheticians at Posh & Polished offer all nail services and simple, tasteful nail art. Only high-end brands including OPI, IBD and Kiara Sky lacquer are used. Manicures start at $14 and pedicures at $20.

Abraham plans to start hosting monthly “networking and nails” events designed to merge the salon’s services with networking opportunities for professional women. Details about the events will be shared on Instagram (@poshandpolishedsd).

Posh & Polished is located in Mercado Del Barrio in Barrio Logan (right next to Chicano Park), and Abraham is excited to join the neighborhood: “Barrio Logan is an up and coming neighborhood with a colorful history,” she said. “It’s such a tight-knit community.”

Posh & Polished is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended in the afternoons and evenings.
