8.10 Julian Jordan 

The Dutch DJ turns 22 this month and has already collaborated with EDM powerhouses like Martin Garrix and Sander van Doorn. He’s kept busy by releasing four new singles this year, including last month’s Chinook (and an accompanying extended mix) on his own GOLDKID Records. — Scott McDonald

8.10: Flicks on the Bricks

Thursdays this month, the Athenaeum invites film aficionados to alfresco screenings of classic films about mismatched pairings The season kicks off with Harold and Maude, and also will include, Annie Hall (8.17), Groundhog Day (8.24), and Silver Linings Playbook (8.31). — Michael Benninger

8.10-13: Tiki Oasis

The world’s largest and longest-running tiki festival returns for three days and four nights of International Intrigue-themed events, including DJs, a burlesque show and a performance from Japanese rock trio The’s of Kill Bill fame. — Michael Benninger

8.11 Kaskade 

Kaskade (aka Ryan Raddon) drew record numbers when he played Coachella a few years back, and he sold out the Mattress Firm Amphitheater when he was in town later with the same massive stage set. But, you know, he’s in town for a quick performance at Omnia.  — Scott McDonald

8.12 East Village Sessions Workout

From 8 a.m. to noon, a city block in East Village will close down to play host to a morning of free (with registration) workout sessions. Try any one of the 45-minute circuits that include pilates, bootcamp, crossfit, yoga and more.

It will be a chill day by the bay with unlimited tastings from more than 120+ craft brew offerings (from 1-4 p.m.), plus a music lineup that only 91X can bring to a beer festival (featuring Iration, J Boog, Magic! and more) that will keep the party rockin’ until 10 p.m.

8.12 Petit Biscuit 

Petit Biscuit is 17-year-old French DJ/producer Mehdi Benjelloun. He is classically trained, plays piano, guitar, cello and more, and has already released his self-titled debut EP. One if its singles, Sunset Lover, has been streamed more than 300 million times and spawned an accompanying EP of remixes that was released in June. Not bad for a high school junior. — Scott McDonald

8.12 Slander 

Derek Andersen and Scott Land met while they were frat brothers at UC Irvine. They’ve gone on to work with the likes of Skrillex, DJ Snake, Diplo, and Bassnectar, and even created their own genre (Heaven Trap). They collaborated with French DJ Basstrick (aka Romain Atherton) on their latest single, Drop It— Scott McDonald

8.12-13: 12th Annual Artwalk @ Liberty Station

Featuring more than 200 visual artists, a dozen musical performers and a street food area with a shaded wine and beer pavilion, this sister event to the original Little Italy festival is a must-see. Put Fido on a leash and head to this canine-centric event offering pet adoptions, puppy contests and hundreds of dog-related merchants, plus food trucks and a pawsitively perfect beer and wine garden. — Michael Benninger

8.13 KAABOO Discovery Tour

Watch as four bands battle it out for a chance to earn a spot to play at the upcoming KAABOO Del Mar in September. Competing bands will be Ban of Gringos, Johny Oskam, Morgan Leigh Band, and Moxy and the Influence. Doors open at 6 p.m.
