When Eden first opened doors winter 2011, local foodies and party-goers were instantly thrilled with the decadent new spread of dining and entertainment options in Hillcrest. Now just six months later, Eden is mixing things up and having a “Madonna Moment” with the unveiling of a fresh interior remodel, new chef, and new summer menu. This fierce Eden diva will yet again be the hottest new face in the Hillcrest scene.

The Grand Opening of the new Eden restaurant is set for Tuesday, June 21, and will debut aesthetic upgrades and a fuss-free menu envisioned by Executive Chef Ron Prestage. The new king of the Eden kitchen actually isn’t new to University Avenue at all; Prestage was the lead man to former Eden and ChileCo Chef during the restaurant’s first era, and he knows what the Hillcrest people really want.

“The revamped menu whole heartedly embraces our desire to provide a dining experience that is reflective of the surrounding community,” says Eden’s new Executive Chef Ron Prestage. “I have no doubt that our guests will go ‘GaGa’ over the new menu and will appreciate our commitment to staying colorful, casual and contemporary.”

Why should a restaurant be limited to serving just one type of cuisine? Eden rejects this notion and proves that diversity is the future in the fresh new summer dinner menu. One must-try item is the signature Ragin’ Cajun, a jambalaya pasta tossed with Cajun spices, blackened chicken, peppers, and andouille, and topped with jumbo prawns; as well as Chi Chi Ladas, Wonton Ruby Ahi Tacos, Strawberry Fields Forever Salad, and the ultra-spicy Cocktail Caliente. The brunch menu is also doubling in size, and will now be served all day on Sundays. Coming soon is a large retractable glass garage door in the front of the dining room, connecting Eden guests to the vibrant Hillcrest community outside.

Also new in food, the former ChileCho Bistro space will now be transformed into Ciro’s Pizzeria & Wine House, a new take on our favorite casual-cool pizza spot that originally called this venue home years ago. The New York style pizza shop is back for more fun this summer in Hillcrest, and is also expected to open on June 21.

After you fill up on high quality fare, it’s time to get your party on at Eden’s edgy nightclub. A few fun new interior upgrades include the installation of plant walls, high tech lighting and fresh paint. Regarding the nocturnal vibe, We wanted to do something fun, urban, casual and little off the wall,” says NightLifeSD’s David Laurent. New FUBAR Fridays will launch on June 17, featuring rotating themed entertainment and drink specials. And don’t miss new Acoustic Wednesdays in the Garden Patio with live acoustic music and happy hour pricing, starting June 22. We can’t wait to see what other changes are in store for Eden culture by night.

Party Time: The new Eden celebrates a public Grand Opening on Tuesday, June 21 from 7pm to close. For more information and to make restaurant reservations, call 877.255.8812 or visit Eden in Hillcrest.
