Puesto celebrates five years with new tacos, birthday bash

Celebrate Puesto’s five years of taco success with a few new flavors over the next three months and a birthday bash with free tacos.

When Puesto first opened doors five years ago, they made a splash in the downtown La Jolla scene. Finally, elevated Mexican eats and a vibrant energy joined the mix around La Jolla Cove.

Five years later, Puesto still stands as one of San Diego’s most popular dining destinations, adding the gorgeously-designed second outpost at The Headquarters along the way (plus a location in Irvine, as well).

To celebrate those oh-so-crispy, melted cheese tacos in style, Puesto will feature a new, innovative “taco of the month” for the next year. At both locations (and at their new location in Irvine), guests can order a chipotle pork tinga taco made with braised pork shoulder, chorizo, potato, chipotle, avocado, cilantro, queso fresco and chicharrón in February; grilled panela, salsa fresca and seasonal vegetable taco in March; and goat cheese chorizo fundido and pork belly made with crispy melted cheese, pickled red onion, roasted garlic and red chile salsa and micro cilantro in April.

On Sunday, April 9 Puesto will be throwing a huge birthday bash at its Headquarters location. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in 5-year-old birthday party fashion, enjoy face painters, balloon artists and jumpy houses. And, most importantly, there will be complimentary tacos and aguas fresca in The Headquarters’ quartyard.

Try any of the new tacos or revisit a past favorite at either Puesto La Jolla on Puesto at The Headquarters. Visit eatpuesto.com for more.
