Mmm, carbs. You know them, you love them and now you have an excuse to go out and eat them today on National Pasta Day. Get ready to twirl your fork around these decadent dishes at San Diego’s shining restaurants.

Bencotto Italian Kitchen – Tortelli di zucca

Bencotto does pasta in a variety of different ways. In fact, they even have a “pasta your way” menu. The dish that captures our hearts (and tastebuds) is one of the less traditional dishes. The tortelli di zucca offers a pumpkin-stuffed ravioli, topped with parmigiano and amaretto cheese, served in a creamy butter and sage sauce with crunchy bacon on top.

Bottega Americano – Papparedelle

If you find yourself in East Village, we recommend trying out the papparedelle dish at Bottega Americano for an incredibly savory meal. It’s made with dried-egg noodles and topped with braised lamb sugo, perocino cheese and fresh mint.

Civico 1845 – Linguine alla pescatora

Seafood pasta is our go-to at Civico 1845. Grab a plate of the linguine alla pescatora which has it all: mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp and tomato sauce mixed with fresh-made pasta.

Cucina SORELLA – Spaghetti

The name of this dish doesn’t do it justice. It’s an upgraded, delicious version of spaghetti, made with duck conserva, Brussels sprouts, shiitake mushroom and a chicken liver butter.

de’Medici – Lobster ravioli

Lobster goes well with carbs… It’s science. This is further evidenced by the lobster ravioli at de’Medici, made with fresh pasta pillows stuffed with Maine lobster and topped with a pink vodka sauce.

Solare Ristorante  Rotondi al ciocolato e guance

Cocoa ravioli? Yep, it’s a thing at Solare Ristorante. The dish features a hand-crafted cocoa ravioli with braised Angus beef cheeks, a Hokto Kinoko mushroom blend and Modica chocolate.
