Throughout the month of March, various events around San Diego will help support Meals on Wheels San Diego. The 15th annual national March for Meals event helps back the charity organization that is dedicated to providing year-round visits and safety checks, plus a nutritious meal, to America’s seniors.
Here’s how you can do some good for San Diego seniors while having some fun.
MOWjito Madness and more
For the entire month of March, when you order specialty cocktails at participating restaurants, $1 will go straight to Meals on Wheels. Head out for cocktails with coworkers or grab a bit with your sweetie at Barra Barra, Cosmopolitan, Casa de Reyes, Brooklyn Girl, Coasterra, The Prado and Indigo Grill and ask about what drinks are designated for the cause. A kickoff event will be held from 5-7 p.m. tonight at Brooklyn Girl (4033 Goldfinch St., Mission Hills).
March is the annual Meals on Wheels drive and giving back. Visit Brooklyn Girl all month long and enjoy our popular Back Pocket Mule. We will donate $1 to @mealsonwheelssd for every cocktail sold! You get to enjoy and our seniors get to receive meals. A win win for all. #mealsonwheelssd #march #seniors #feelgood
All in for 4 Change Slot and Backjack Tournament
If you’re feeling lucky, then put your money where your mouth is at Harrah’s Resort SoCal (777 Harrah’s Rincon Way, Valley Center, caesars.com/harrahs-socal). If Blackjack is best, head to the Valley Center casino from 3-7 p.m. on March 16 or 30. If reeling it in on the slots sounds intriguing, the clink of coins will take center stage from 3-7 p.m. on March 10 and 24.
Wiggin’ Out for San Diego Seniors 5K/1Mile Walk-Run
Slap on a wig and head out to the Wiggin’s Out for San Diego Seniors for a 5K or 1 mile walk/run along Mission Bay. Create a team or strike out on your own at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 25.
