Our city isn’t just great to look at, we’re pretty talented, too.
San Diego will celebrate the best of the best in local theater during the Patté Awards on the evening of Monday, January 18.
What was once a small gathering over 10 years ago is now an enlightening gala and award ceremony that honors San Diego’s thriving theater community. The event is hosted by Emmy Award-winner Pat Launer, who has been San Diego’s only regularly broadcast theater critic for the past 25 years. The celebration will feature visual, aural and culinary delights, including a plated, sit-down dinner, awards presentation and entertainment from musical theater productions of the past year.
The Scene: You can expect to see an array of writers and directors, patrons, board members, business leaders and the San Diego social elite. Come face-to-face with the known talents and rising stars that put San Diego theater on national radar.
The 13th annual Emmy Award-nominated Patté Awards will take place at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter. Preferred tickets are $75; premium tickets, which include favorable seating, are $150. Special $55 tickets are available for theater artists. Tables are $750 and $1250. Get your tickets here.
The Cause: Ticket sales benefit the The Patté Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was established with the express purpose of promoting, supporting and advocating for live theater in San Diego. In connection with these goals, The Patté Foundation coordinates and hosts the annual Patté Awards for Theater Excellence, and maintains a Scholarship Program for Promising Young Theatermakers within San Diego.
Did You Know: San Diego is the nation’s number one exporter of shows to Broadway. It is the fifth largest theater market in the country, with nearly 100 local theater companies.
