The 100 Best Restaurants in America is a list based on experiences from verified diners on the dining aggregator site, OpenTable. To compile the list, more than 26,000 restaurants were reviewed based on an analysis of more than 12 million reviews.
Market Restaurant + Bar was the only San Diego-area restaurant to make the list. Other restaurants making the cut are featured in well-known food cities like New York, Boston, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
Market Restaurant + Bar, which was founded in 2006, is a Contemporary American restaurant headed by Executive Chef and Proprietor Carl Schroeder. Schroeder is a three-time James Beard Best Chef nominee who has received nuermous other accolades.
Chef de Cuisine John Thompson has been working with Schroder since 2004 when he was a line cook (while the pair worked together at Arterra Restaurant at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar) and again as a member of the opening team of Market Restaurant + Bar in 2006.
The restaurant offers a dining experience at their bar and lounge where guests can exclusively order sushi along with the tasting and entrée menus.
The private dining room is ideal for a special occasion or business dinner with space accomodating up to 24 guests where all menus are available.
An award-winning wine list including selections for sommeliers, features wines from wineries local and around the world with many different blends and varieties being offered.
