  1. I’d start with a pure platinum plate in the shape of a simple eye mask, then adorned it with peacock feathers and cut diamond bezels around the eye sockets.

  2. Haven’t had a date with my hubby in awhile.. Sushi and a night out without the child would be awesome!!! :)

  3. a unicorn horn, mermaid hair, and a tropical rainbow.

  4. I would go with a black metal mask, gold flakes, and peacock feathers.

  5. Mardi Gras at the Gaslamp is my favorite!
My mask would be one of those cool masks with the beak attached, gold and purple sequins in a swirl pattern all over it. The obviously, I would use feathers, lots and lots of feathers. I would create a headdress our to deep purple feathers. Finally, I would have beads dangling off the side like the tassels on a kids bike.

  6. Purple, gold, black and aqua green feathers, added to the side of the mask, adorned in the sort of way a peacocks tail shows when it is open, Use a gold sequin mask and have green beads dangling off of the sides

  7. Eye mask covered in black lace and adorned with tiny diamonds throughout, with long thick black sparkle eye lashes.

  8. 3 items I would choose: Jet Pack, Beer Blaster, & Laser Projector.

I would fly around downtown with my jet pack doin flips and shit, puttin on a show, then fly up to people and shoot ice cold Stone IPA into their face holes with the beer cannons on my shoulders. On the sides of my face the projectors would be shooting out lasers, giving everyone a rainbow light show as an added cool effect to my flying, beer-blasting awesomeness. All these things would be attached to a mask somehow, so it still counts.

  9. Bacon, prosciutto, and some capicola.

  10. a live bird, live kitten, and glitter

  11. Bacon, Duct Tape & Champagne. Some how the 3 can be combined and just stacked together its the most functional mask for the evening.

  12. I would use the page from the Kendra cover and cut holes for the eyes and mouth. On my head I would wear the biggest tiara I could find. And in my arms I would carry a baby and a basketball.

  13. Sushi and a party! Lovely..

  14. tin foil, hummingbird feathers, and palm fronds. BAM! you can picture it, can’t you?

  15. As I’m wearing my lederhosen and awesome Alpine hat, my mask will be face painted on around my eyes and consist of beer mugs, Edelwies, and deer… Prost!

  16. Warm melted yellow crayons, tree bark painted green, & and a 2 week old eggplant. Staying in the spirit of Mardi Gras & being resourceful~

  17. Paper mache, gold leaf, and crystals. :)

  18. I would use golden clay (to make the base of the mask), green paint, and purple jewels… keeping with the traditional colors of Mardi Gras and using my creativity and work to make my own mask :-)

  19. Panties, ribbon, and a smile!

  20. Purple feathers, gold glitter and green gem stones

  21. Being the Angel that I proclaim to be, I would use my shiny white bikini bottoms, with 2 eyes cut out. And a beautiful array of pigeon feathers, attached to a broken tree limb. Why not stand out in a crowd of traditional masks?

  22. A newspapermache mask, with writing utensil eyebrows, and a college-ruled crescent-smiled paper mouth!

  23. My twin brother and I are celebrating our 25th birthday on Feb 22nd ASH WEDNESDAY!!! What a great way to ring in the evening of our birthday then on FAT TUESDAY!!! Would love to enjoy the celebration downtown and with some YUMMY SUSHI!!! :)

  24. Oh, and of course I would make my mask out of cotton candy so it goes on lightly and is taken off tastefully ;)

  25. This contest winner is Kelley Raney, who’s submission was actually erased from this page due to a technical glitch, but her answer lived on in our database and we had to choose it. Congrats Kelley. Here’s her answer below:

Since “Mardi gras” is french for Fat Tuesday, the last day of eating richer, fatty foods before the fasting that begins the next day on Ash wednesday, my outragous Mardi Gras mask would be made up of something flashy and the richest and highest in fat foods. The first item my mask would be made up of is the traditional beak styled mask, made up of golden-y deep fried bacon, double battered to give it that sequincy, deep golden color. The second item my mask is made up of, the decoration onto the mask, would, of course, have to be long feather-like pieces of Jewels, such as rubies & emeralds & blue and pumpkin colored diamonds, adorning the top of the mask, as feathers normally would. For my third item that my mask would be decorated with, would be nothing other than flakes of decadent, rich white and dark chocolate pieces, flown in from nowhere else except the swiss german alps. The chocolate would be sprinkled all over the top, glinting magically alongside the jewels,
as well as hanging in long tassle like shapes from the side of the mask. The whole mask would emit bright, rainbow colored reflections and brilliantly shimmer throughout the night.

  26. On a black lone ranger mask I would arrange: 1. enourmous beautiful feathers completely covering mask, strategically placed to fan out, 2. sequins in various bright colors, 3. glitter sprinkled over entire ensemble. LET’S PARTY!

  27. Historic Gas Lamp street signs, firecrackers and baby’s breath (the real deal, not the flower).

  28. plastic gold mask, glitter, feathers

  29. i would use hot wax and drop brads and staples all over it! danger zone!

  30. I WOULD ENGRAVE A GAS MASK WITH DIAMONDS AND MAKE THE TUBE AT THE END OF THE MASK INTO A BEER BONG.

  31. Feathers, Mickey Mouse ears on a Steelers football helmet!
